Introduction
hub6 is a social-commerce platform built for Nigeria that connects sellers and resellers (dropshippers) in real time. This Privacy Policy explains how hub6 ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you use our mobile application and related services. By downloading, registering, or using hub6, you agree to the terms described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Information We Collect
When you register on hub6, we collect your full name, email address, phone number, and account credentials. Sellers may also provide business name, product categories, and location details for delivery filtering purposes.
We collect data about how you interact with the platform — products you view, sellers you follow, items you bookmark, searches you perform, and feeds you engage with. This helps us personalise your experience.
We automatically collect device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, IP address, browser type, and mobile network information when you access our services. Where applicable, hub6 may also request access to your device camera to allow you capture and upload product images when creating or updating listings. Camera access is only used when you explicitly choose to take a photo within the app.
We collect general location information (state or city level) to support delivery location filtering in the marketplace. We do not track your precise GPS location without explicit consent.
If you contact our support team or send messages through the platform, we retain those communications to resolve disputes and improve our services.
How We Use Your Information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the hub6 platform and its features
- Personalise your product feed — both 'For You' and 'Following' content
- Send push notifications for stock changes, product updates, and bookmarked item alerts
- Verify your email address to grant access to posting, following, and notification features
- Connect sellers with resellers and facilitate product discovery
- Monitor platform activity to detect fraud, abuse, and policy violations
- Comply with applicable Nigerian laws and regulations
- Respond to customer support enquiries and resolve disputes
- Analyse platform trends to develop new features and improve existing ones
Information Sharing
hub6 does not sell your personal information to third parties. We only share your data in the following circumstances:
- Between sellers and resellers on the platform — seller store names, product listings, and public profile information are visible to other users by design
- With service providers who help operate our infrastructure (e.g. cloud hosting, analytics, push notification services) under strict data processing agreements
- With law enforcement or regulatory bodies if required by Nigerian law or a valid legal order
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, where data would transfer to the successor entity
We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to advertisers or data brokers.
Push Notifications
hub6 uses push notifications as a core feature of the platform. You may receive notifications for:
- A bookmarked product coming back in stock
- Important updates from sellers you follow
- Platform announcements and new feature releases
- Account security alerts (e.g. new login detected)
You can manage or disable push notifications at any time through your device settings or within the hub6 app under Account → Notifications.
Data Security
We take the security of your data seriously. hub6 implements industry-standard security measures including:
- Encrypted data transmission using HTTPS/TLS for all API communications
- Secure storage of passwords using one-way hashing algorithms
- Access controls that restrict who within hub6 can view your data
- Regular security reviews and vulnerability assessments
While we take every reasonable precaution, no system is 100% secure. In the unlikely event of a data breach that affects your rights or freedoms, we will notify you promptly in accordance with applicable law.
Account Verification
hub6 requires email verification before users can access key platform features such as posting products, following sellers, and receiving push notifications. This is to:
- Ensure the integrity and trustworthiness of the seller-reseller network
- Prevent spam, fake accounts, and fraudulent activity
- Protect legitimate sellers and resellers from abuse
- Comply with our platform terms of service
Your Rights
As a hub6 user, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

- Correction — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Deletion — request deletion of your account and associated personal data
- Portability — request your data in a structured, machine-readable format

Data Retention

- Your profile and product listings are removed from public view immediately
- Personal account data is deleted within 30 days
- Transaction and dispute records may be retained for up to 12 months for legal and compliance purposes
- Anonymised, aggregated usage data may be retained indefinitely for platform analytics
Children's Privacy
hub6 is a business-oriented commerce platform designed for adults and business operators. Our services are not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will immediately suspend the account and delete associated data. Third-Party Services
hub6 may integrate with or link to third-party services for functionality such as payment processing, cloud infrastructure, and analytics.
